C'est dans l'aléatoire de ma bibliothèque que j'ai redécouvert cette chanson que j'adore mais que je n'avais pas écouté depuis un moment. El Manana, chanson de Gorillaz, reprise par Metronomy.
De toutes les reprises de El Manana, celle-ci est de loin ma préférée. Vous verrez, vous n'allez pas être déçu. ;)

It's by moving from one song to an other one in my Itunes that I rediscovered this song that I quit like. El Manana, Gorillaz's song, covered by Metronomy.
Up to me, it's the best cover, out of many many others, of this song. Check for yourself, you won't be disapointed. ;)
First listening of the new album The English Riviera of the english band, with the song "She Wants".
I had great difficulty to pronounce myself about it. Certainly because I'm a real Metronomy's fanatic, and we can hear with the first song they had changed. We still can reconize them, the music is still their own style, but it's different. I thought about it I found out that their music has got softer.
Their are not anymore that excentric and amazing synthetizer's melodies, which make you dance like in "Radio Ladio" or "A Thing For You". It seems they now use it as the accompaning instrument, like for the chords, web, etc.. Even the sound has got softer. The basse, which still has some very interesting partitions, has lost in dynamic as well. And about the drum, because it's now really played and not programmed, it sounds less groovy, less agressive. I don't feel the will of dancing like before. However, Anna Prior added a lot to the band, especially for the accompaning voice, which match perfectly with the leader's voice, Joseph Mount.
So we've now got a Metronomy softer, simplyfied, calm, but still enjoyable. In fact, even if I prefere the album "Night Out" (which was pretty awesome by the way), I'm not disapointed by this song. I advise you to listen to it at least three times before to get a final opinion.
The album is coming out on the 11th of April, but if you can't wait, get your ticket because the band's already playing it on live.

Première écoute du nouvel album "The English Riviera" du groupe anglais, avec la chanson "She Wants".
J'ai eu du mal à savoir ce que j'en pensais. Sans doute par ce que je suis grand fan du groupe et que la nouvelle chanson nous laisse entendre qu'il y a du changement. Pas de quoi se perdre car on reconnait bien le style très particulier du groupe, mais quand même, c'est différent. J'ai bien réfléchi à ce qui avait changé; tout est plus mou.
Les mélodies excentriques au synthé sont beaucoup moins présentent, plus d'interventions inattendus qui vous laissent sur le cul mais qui vous fassent aussi danser comme dans "Radio Ladio" ou "A Thing For You". Le synthé maintenant a plutôt le rôle d'accompagnateur, genre accords, nappe, ou bourdon. Même le son est beaucoup plus doux, moins agressif à l'oreille. La basse, même si ses parties restent variées et intéressantes, a perdu en dynamicité. Quand à la batterie, le fait qu'elle soit jouée et non plus programmée la rend un peu molle, moins claquante, ce n'est plus aussi dansant qu'avant. Cepandant, l'arrivé d'Anna Prior a été très bénéfique au niveau du chant, car ça voix et celle du leader du groupe Joseph Mount colle parfaitement. Le tout donne un Metronomy plus mou, simple, tranquille, mais qui ne déplaît pas. Même si je ne suis pas habitué à cette facette du groupe et que j'ai une préférence pour l'ancien album "Night out" (qui, au passage, était juste extraordinaire), je ne suis pas déçu et je vous conseil trois écoutes avant de vous faire un jugement définitif.
L'ablum The English Riviera sera en vente le 11 Avril prochain. Mais si vous ne pouvez pas attendre ces 15 jours, achetez vous un ticket pour l'un de leurs concerts, car ils les jouent déjà en live.
